Duncan-Parnell sponsors 2nd Habitat House build in Raleigh, NC

Purple FlowerIt is often said that “success breeds success.” As Duncan-Parnell moves forward into its 70th year of business, it does so by practicing one of its secrets of success: creating lifelong relationships built on value. Duncan-Parnell extends this relationship beyond its customers, employees, and vendors to include local communities.

Last year, Duncan-Parnell sponsored its first Habitat for Humanity house in Charlotte, NC. Duncan-Parnell had over 130 employees who volunteered over 1300 hours, along with family, friends, customers, and vendors, to build a house for Emily Givens and her two children. The experience was so positive that Duncan-Parnell president, Mark Duncan, decided to invest in full sponsorship of another Habitat house again.

This year, the Habitat House will be in Raleigh, NC. “We chose Raleigh because we want to serve and significantly impact communities we conduct business in. Raleigh is a natural choice following the success of the Charlotte build since we have a large footprint in Central and Eastern North Carolina,” said Mark Duncan. Duncan-Parnell’s first expansion outside of the Charlotte metro area was in 1976 with the establishment of a branch office in Raleigh, followed by branches in Morrisville, Rocky Mount, Wilson, and Greensboro.

“We are excited to start the project with Habitat Wake and build a home for Brandy Currey who is a single mom with two young children. Brandy is a hardworking clerk with the United States Postal Service,” said Executive Director, Graham Johnson.

Duncan-Parnell invites employees, vendors, partners, customers, families, and friends to pick up a hammer and build with us.
