Dorchester Habitat for Humanity
We’ve done it again! Duncan-Parnell has been fortunate and blessed once again to be a part of a Habitat for Humanity house build. This year DP partnered with the Dorchester Habitat for Humanity to build a home in Summerville, SC. Habitat was founded in 1976 based on the belief that safe, decent and affordable shelter plays a critical role in helping families create new cycles, ones filled with possibilities and progress. To date, Habitat has helped 6.8 million people worldwide achieve just that.
With hammers and drills at the ready, Duncan-Parnell employees, family, vendors, customers, and the then to-be new home owner, Rezinda, began construction on February 10th. Day 1 of construction saw all of the walls, doors inside & out, and even a few trusses go up. By April 8th, 184 volunteer days later, Rezinda’s new home was finished.
Rezinda is a master cake decorator and has worked in the Publix bakery for many years. She is a hard worker with a sweet spirit, and loves to spend time with her three children and grandchildren.
